Thanks to its mild climate, Sanremo can be enjoyed all year round. Out of season the city is quieter, prices are lower and you can enjoy the Riviera dei Fiori at a relaxed pace, with seaside walks, golden light and good food. It's a great time to come if you're after rest, culture and an authentic feel, away from the summer crowds.

What to do in autumn and winter

This is the season for walks along the seafront and bike rides on the cycle path, for visiting the Pigna without the crowds and for seeing the hinterland in its autumn colours. You can also take trips to the villages, visit the area's spas and enjoy good seasonal food. And in February the Festival brings the city to life.

The climate and when to go

Sanremo's winters are mild compared with the rest of northern Italy, which is why it has long been a winter resort. The shoulder seasons bring bright days and pleasant temperatures, great for being outdoors. Even in winter there are often sunny days for a stroll by the sea.

Easier on your wallet too

Outside the summer months and Festival week, apartments cost less and there's far more choice. It's a good time for a relaxing break, a quiet working stay or a longer holiday at lower prices. Get in touch for low-season rates and long stays.
