Sanremo is well connected and easy to reach, from elsewhere in Italy and from abroad. Depending on where you're coming from, you can take the train, fly into one of the nearby airports, or drive along the Autostrada dei Fiori. This guide covers all the options and travel times to help you plan your trip.
By train
Sanremo's station is on the Riviera railway line, with direct links from Genoa, Milan, Ventimiglia and France. It's a convenient, low-impact option, and the station is close to the centre. From France, the coastal line links Nice and Menton to Ventimiglia, where you can easily change for Sanremo.
By plane: Nice and Genoa airports
The most convenient airports are Nice (in France) and Genoa, both about an hour to an hour and a half from Sanremo by car or train. Nice has the widest choice of international flights. From the airport you can continue by train, bus, private transfer or hire car. Milan is also an option if you're travelling from further afield.
By car and where to park
By car, take the A10 motorway and leave at the Sanremo exit. In town, parking in the centre is limited and paid: there are public car parks and garages, but in high season and during the Festival they fill up fast. It's best to check the options near your accommodation in advance: get in touch and we'll send you directions for check-in.
