The cycling-and-walking path of the Riviera dei Fiori Coastal Park was built on the old railway and runs for kilometres right by the sea, linking Sanremo to Ospedaletti, Arma di Taggia and beyond. It's flat, scenic and suitable for everyone: families, sporty types and anyone who simply wants to stroll with the sea alongside. It's one of the area's best-loved attractions and one of Italy's finest seaside cycle paths.
The route and how long it is
The main route runs about 24 kilometres along the coast, but you can ride just the stretch you prefer. Being flat and separated from cars, it's perfect even for the less fit: on an e-bike you easily cover the whole path and stop wherever you like. You can start from Sanremo heading west (Ospedaletti) or east (Arma di Taggia).
Where to rent a bike
Along the route there are several rental points: classic and electric bikes, tandems, scooters and family rickshaws. Prices vary by hours and type of vehicle; in high season it's best to book or arrive early. Many rentals provide helmets and child seats.
What to see along the way
Between rides you'll find beaches, coves, restored old stations, lit tunnels and seaside bars for a break. The stretch towards Ospedaletti offers some of the finest views, especially at sunset, while eastwards you reach Arma di Taggia and its lidos. It's the best way to experience the Riviera dei Fiori at a slow pace.
Useful tips
Bring water, sunscreen and a hat: the open stretches are very sunny. The path is shared with pedestrians, so keep a moderate speed. Spring and autumn are ideal for riding in cool weather with few crowds. Staying near the cycle path lets you set off comfortably by bike from your doorstep.
